There are so many ways to be part of the work of welcome. Whether you live locally in North Devon or further afield, your time, skills, and care can make a real difference. 

Locally, you can volunteer at our welcome hub, help run activities, teach English, offer lifts, donate household items, or simply share a cup of tea and conversation with someone new. Nationally, you can get involved through Community Sponsorship - where groups of volunteers come together to welcome a refugee family, find a home for them, and walk alongside them as they build a new life here in the UK. It’s one of the most tangible and rewarding ways to be part of lasting change. 

We are always looking for new volunteers, especially in these times when life feels uncertain for many of the people we support. Your involvement sends a powerful message — that newcomers are not alone, and that kindness and community still have the power to overcome fear. 

We can never underestimate what volunteering offers: the joy and sense of purpose it gives to those who help, and the life-changing difference it makes for those who arrive seeking safety, friendship, and hope.
